Assignment: Write a 250 word essay on the business opportunity which most intrigued you.
This week I learned about 4 online business opportunities: search engine optimization (SEO), graphic design, website theme development, and copywriting. All of these things are needed in today’s economy. The one that I find most appealing is copywriting. For anyone who doesn’t know, copywriting is the act of writing ads and other marketing materials. As I write more I have found that I actually don’t mind doing it. The Ron Paul Curriculum also has many great lessons on copywriting and advertising, so I wouldn’t be starting blind. I also have some practice writing ads. To see one of my practice ads click here. In general, I think I would be better at copywriting than any of the other options.
As for the other options, website theme development and SEO are to technical for me. I know a thing or two about computers, but not that much. I don’t think I would be very good at graphic design. I have never been a particularly artsy person. I put all of my creative energy into building things. I have more of an engineer’s mind not an artist’s. That is why out of these four options I choose copywriting.
