For a long time I really struggled with math in my home-school journey. I couldn’t find a single curriculum that had a good math program. I tried a bunch of them: CTC, Khan Academy, Thinkwell, and Power HomeSchool none of them worked. CTC and Power HomeSchool had superficial math programs. I wanted a rigorous math curriculum so these didn’t work. Khan Academy and Thinkwell just had a 3 minute video explaining one example. Then they would assign problems that were either way harder than the example or completely unrelated to the example. I often found myself frustrated and confused with these. So, I basically fell a grade behind in math, which was my best subject in public school.
The Ron Paul Curriculum Saved my Math Career
Luckily, one day I decided to switch to the Ron Paul Curriculum. They teach math in a clear concise way but, they still give multiple examples. I at the time of writing this recently finished the Algebra 2 course, which I had to go back to do because like I said I fell a grade behind. It was hard but great. On average most of the lessons were 30 minutes long with many examples. This did get a little tiresome but every time I came away with a good understanding of the topic. When I finished the course I took the CLEP college algebra exam and I passed with flying colors! All I used to prepare was the Ron Paul Curriculum course and a couple practice tests. All of their high school math courses are taught on the college level by college professors or PhDs. This was the rigorous curriculum I was looking for and I plan on using it to pass more CLEP exams. Thanks to the Ron Paul Curriculum I am able to do high level math again.
